The Interchange Foundation seeks to provide avenues for women and racial minorities to pursue careers and operate viable businesses in the science, technology, engineering, math and construction (STEM-C) fields by providing STEM and Construction-related: ·

  • Benevolent assistance

Assistance Programs

Educational program grants ($500-$5,000)

Funding for the operation of STEM-C education programs hosted by a third-party provider. Preference is given to those programs that can demonstrate active recruitment of women and/or minorities. Funds to be used for any program related costs including: materials, instructor salaries, licensing requirements or marketing.

Scholarships ($500-$5,000)

Funding for education tuition and fees; paid directly to the educational institution. Applicant must be 18+ years of age at the time of enrollment in a STEM-C program. Acceptable programs may include those offered at a college, university, tech school, trade school or certification program located in Tennessee, which actively seeks to prepare an individual for a STEM-C career. Applicant must be enrolled in the program. Recipients are eligible for scholarship renewal on a case-by-case basis.

Benevolent Assistance ($500-$5,000)

Funding for additional needs (i.e. housing, food, utilities, books) of students enrolled in a STEM-C program. The Interchange Foundation will reimburse qualified expenses. Applicant must be 18+ years of age at the time of enrollment in a STEM-C program. Acceptable programs may include those offered at a college, university, tech school, trade school or certification program located in Tennessee, which actively seeks to prepare an individual for a STEM-C career. Applicant must be enrolled in the program.

Grants to Businesses ($500-$5,000)

Funding for women and minority-owned qualified businesses* to engage in educational opportunities (i.e. joining trade associations, attending seminars/workshops, completing continuing education courses, etc.) in order to increase their capacity to enter the marketplace. The Interchange Foundation will reimburse qualified expenses.

Direct Program Activity

Mentoring, coaching, and workshops for women and minority-owned qualified businesses* and those individuals seeking to start a business in STEM-C.
